  • 2
From City-Center PierWalk straight off the ship onto the Kordon promenade. The waterfront, restaurants, and the wooden Trojan Horse are immediately accessible.
  • 3
Getting to TroyTroy is 30 km south (~35-min drive). Take a taxi, minibus from the otogar (bus station), or join an organized tour. The Troy Museum is at the site entrance.

Insider Tips

  • 💰
Pay in Turkish Lira. ATMs are plentiful on the Kordon. Euros and USD are sometimes accepted at tourist spots, but at poor rates. Card payment works well in most restaurants and shops.
  • ⛴️
Book combo tours early. Troy + Gallipoli full-day tours fill up fast on cruise days. Book through your ship or a reputable operator (Fez Travel, private guides) well before arrival.
  • ☀️
Bring sun protection. Both Troy and Gallipoli offer minimal shade — hat, sunscreen, and water are essential, especially June through September.
  • 🏛️
Visit the Troy Museum first. It's right at the site entrance and gives crucial context before you walk the ruins. Allow 1-1.5 hrs for the museum alone.
  • Troy alone is doable independently. Taxis from Kepez or the city center charge around €30-40 return with waiting time — reasonable for 2-4 people if you skip Gallipoli.
