Stroll Strada I from the dock past the Palace of the European Commission of the Danube (built 1860-1868), St. Nicholas Orthodox Cathedral with its Byzantine frescoes, the historic Water Tower, and local fish restaurants. The entire walk is flat and shaded by riverside trees.
Walk or take a short taxi to the Cosmopolitan Cemetery (Cimitirul Cosmopolit), Sulina's most remarkable sight. Wander between Orthodox crosses, Jewish Stars of David, and the famous pirate grave — a vivid reminder of Sulina's 19th-century cosmopolitan glory.
Bring RON cash. While waterfront restaurants may accept cards, local boat captains, taxis, minibuses, and the lighthouse museum strongly prefer Romanian Leu. ATMs are on Strada I.
