For most Beagle Channel calls there is no pier, tender, taxi rank, or city transfer; the ship transits the channel as the shore experience. Plan on deck viewing rather than ground transportation.
When the same itinerary includes Ushuaia, the cruise pier sits next to the compact downtown area. San Martin Avenue and the waterfront are typically a short 5-10 minute walk.
Taxis and remises are common for airport transfers, hotel runs, or reaching trailheads and viewpoints outside the center. Agree the fare before leaving and carry small Argentine peso notes because card acceptance can vary.
