Ilha de Porto Belo Island Tour
A serene island just a few hundred meters offshore, reached by water taxi. Walk the ecological trail through Atlantic Forest, spot ancient rock inscriptions, and visit a small local history museum. The surrounding waters are prime snorkeling territory.
Porto Belo's famous flutuantes — floating bars moored in the turquoise Caixa d'Aço cove — serve cold caipirinhas and grilled seafood directly to swimmers and anchored boats. A uniquely Brazilian experience.

Head 8 km east to the Bombinhas peninsula, home to Sepultura Beach — renowned as one of Brazil's best snorkeling spots — plus Praia de Bombas for swimming and Praia do Mariscal for surfers.
Classic two-hour schooner cruise around Garoupas Bay stopping at snorkeling sites and natural pools. Popular with families. Keep an eye out for resident Guiana dolphins (locally called tucuxi) in the bay.
The town center is compact and walkable. Visit the historic Igreja Matriz — its walls contain mortar made with whale oil, a relic of the town's colonial-era whaling past (the church dates to 1814). Browse local craft stalls and try a pastel or açaí.
About 30 km north, Camboriú offers the Unipraias cable car with panoramic coastal views, a long pedestrian beach boulevard, and the Oceanic Aquarium. Best as a half-day if the ship call allows.
