V-2 Rocket Museum (HTM Peenemünde)
The headline attraction: the Historisch-Technisches Museum occupies the former WWII power station that fueled the rocket program. Exhibits cover the V-1 and V-2 development, Wernher von Braun's team, the use of concentration-camp forced labor, and the rockets' legacy in US and Soviet space programs. Outdoor areas feature replica V-2s and original railcars.
A Juliett-class Soviet ballistic-missile submarine — the largest conventional sub in the world — sits in the harbor and is open for exploration. Climb inside to experience the cramped quarters of its 80-man crew during the Cold War.

Stay on marked paths. The forests and dunes around Peenemünde were heavily bombed in WWII. Unexploded ordnance (Munitionsbelastung) signs are real warnings — heed them and don't wander off trails.

The UBB train is your friend. Hourly service runs along the whole island. It's cheap, punctual, and opens up Karlshagen, Zinnowitz, and other resorts far beyond walking range.
