Head south from Navy Pier along the paved lakefront path toward Millennium Park and the Museum Campus. Pass Oak Street Beach, the Chicago skyline reflected in Lake Michigan, and the Buckingham Fountain. The Art Institute and The Bean are natural turnaround points.
From the ferry dock, walk Main Street past fudge shops and Victorian hotels to Fort Mackinac at the bluff. The fort admission includes panoramic lake views. Loop back via the Grand Hotel porch (non-guests welcome) and British Landing Road.
