  • 1
Tender to Mandrač harborLarger ships anchor offshore and tender passengers to the Mandrač, Cres Town's historic inner harbor. The tender ride is short (5–10 min). Smaller ships can dock alongside Obala Sv. Mikule quay.
  • 2
Clear the waterfront in minutesTaxis wait near Trg Frane Petrića (main square, 2-min walk from landing). No shuttle buses — the historic core is pedestrian only and compact.

Insider Tips

  • Tender queues move fast — Cres Town's harbor is compact and gangway waits are usually short. Still, grab an early tender if you're heading out to Lubenice or Beli.
  • 👟
Wear proper shoes. The old town's polished stone paving is slippery when wet, and the hike to Sveti Ivan beach is steep. Flip-flops are a hazard outside the beach itself.
  • 🦅
Book the griffon vulture centre early — Caput Insulae in Beli is a small, non-commercial operation. Group tours can fill up. Entry ~€7–10.
  • 💶
Cash for taxis and small shops. Cards are fine in restaurants, but taxis and market stalls often prefer euro cash. ATMs are in Cres Town near the main square.
  • 🕐
Siesta is real here. Small shops close roughly 1–5 PM. Plan shopping in the morning or after 5 PM. Restaurants and cafes stay open through the day.
