Tórshavn is a pier port — ships berth directly at Skansabryggjan (closer) or the outer Molain quay. Both are flat, easy walks to the historic center.

Kirkjubøur: Faroe Islands' Historic Heart
A 20-minute drive south, Kirkjubøur holds the ruins of a 13th-century Gothic cathedral, a still-active medieval church, and the world's oldest continuously inhabited wooden farmhouse (the Roykstovan, occupied by the same family for 16+ generations).

Start at Skansabryggjan pier, visit Skansin Fort for harbor views, continue along Vágsbotnur waterfront past cafes and the harbor statue of Nólsoyar Páll, then loop around the Tinganes peninsula to see the turf-roofed government buildings. Return through the Á Reyni old residential quarter.
Walk up from the harbor to Tórshavn Cathedral (1788), continue to Viðarlundin city park for a peaceful stroll among one of the only tree groves in the Faroes, and finish at the Listasavn Føroya national art museum on the park's edge.
