    Layer up, always. Lake Superior can drop the temperature 10°C in minutes when a breeze comes off the water. Even on sunny summer days, bring a light windbreaker from the ship.

    Eat a Persian. This oval fried pastry with thick pink berry icing is a Thunder Bay original. Find them at The Persian Man (two city locations) — you won't find them anywhere else in the world.
