  • 2
On footThe USS Midway is a 5-minute walk south. Gaslamp Quarter starts 10 minutes southeast. Little Italy is 15 minutes north along the waterfront.
  • 3
Ferry to CoronadoThe Broadway Pier ferry terminal offers 15-minute crossings to Coronado Island. Adult fare is ~$9 each way. Ferries run roughly hourly throughout the day.
  • 4
Rideshares & taxisUber and Lyft are widely available. San Diego International Airport (SAN) is only 2.4 miles away — useful for pre/post-cruise stays. Balboa Park/Zoo is about 10 minutes by car.

Insider Tips

  • ☀️
Sunscreen is non-negotiable. San Diego gets 266 sunny days a year and UV is intense even in winter. Apply before you leave the ship.
  • Take the Coronado ferry. It departs from Broadway Pier, costs ~$9 each way, and runs roughly hourly. Coronado Beach is worth every minute of that 15-minute ride.
  • 🦁
Book the Zoo in advance. The San Diego Zoo is world-class but lines for tickets can be long. Buy online before your cruise to skip the queue.
  • 💳
Cards accepted everywhere. San Diego is very card-friendly — USD cash is rarely needed. Rideshares (Uber/Lyft) work seamlessly from both piers.
  • 🍽
Little Italy for lunch. Walk 15 minutes north along the waterfront to find some of San Diego's best Italian restaurants and a buzzing café scene around India Street.
