Herreshoff Marine Museum & America's Cup Hall of Fame
The Herreshoff Manufacturing Company built six consecutive America's Cup defenders between 1893 and 1920. The museum holds 60 original Herreshoff boats, steam engines, and a world-class America's Cup archive on the original Bristol waterfront site.

This 1810 Federal-style mansion on Hope Street was the home of the DeWolf family — Bristol's most prominent merchant dynasty, deeply involved in the transatlantic slave trade. Guided tours connect the elegant architecture to a frank, important history.

The 464-acre former estate of Samuel P. Colt offers manicured lawns, stone walls, and sweeping Narragansett Bay shoreline views. A favorite for a leisurely stroll or picnic, with one of the best sunset vistas in Rhode Island.

A flat, paved 14.5-mile rail trail beginning at Independence Park in Bristol Harbor, running north to Providence along the Narragansett Bay shoreline. Rent a bike dockside and ride as far as time allows.
A magnificent 45-room English-country manor (the current house completed in 1908, after the original 1896 mansion burned) built for the family of coal magnate Augustus Van Wickle, set on a 33-acre bayside estate whose arboretum includes the tallest giant sequoia east of the Rocky Mountains. Open seasonally.
Bristol's compact grid and flat terrain make it ideal for self-guided walks — Thames Street, Hope Street, and the waterfront boardwalk are all worth exploring on foot.

Head inland from the waterfront to Hope Street for a self-guided walking tour of Bristol's colonial and Federal-era architecture. Pass Burnside Memorial Hall (Visitor Center), the Bristol County Courthouse (1816), Linden Place mansion, and St. Michael's Episcopal Church (founded 1718).
