The signature 2 km guided loop through the reserve. Start at the historic Cadbury Lodge, traverse native woodland and former plantation clearings, and encounter nesting sooty terns, lesser noddies, frigatebirds, and tropicbirds up close.
Hike 135 m to the island's high point for sweeping panoramas of the Indian Ocean and neighboring islands including Praslin, La Digue, Cousine, and Mahé on a clear day.
Aride hosts the world's largest colony of lesser noddies and Seychelles' biggest roseate tern population. During breeding season, the sky fills with hundreds of thousands of seabirds — an extraordinary spectacle for birdwatchers.
Spot Wright's Gardenia (Rothmannia annae) — a shrub found only on Aride Island. Guides also point out Wright's Skink, Seychelles Skinks, and fruit bats in the island's native woodland.
After the guided walk, relax on the pristine south beach. The calm turquoise bay is ideal for a swim or simply watching seabirds wheel overhead. Bring your own water and snacks — there are no concessions.
